Help to Claim: Telephone & Webchat Adviser
Thank you for your interest in working at the Citizens Advice service that supports residents across Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale and Trafford. We offer direct support to over 20,000 clients per year with a range of issues including Welfare Benefits, Debt, Housing and Employment.
Location: Rochdale (with some travel required across locations Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale & Trafford)
Salary: Point 15 (£16,705) to Point 19 (£18,524) - pro rata applies
Hours: 14 hours per week (Mondays & Friday)
Reporting to: Help to Claim Manager
The Citizens Advice services across Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale and Trafford are leading providers of advice and information, supporting tens of thousands of clients every year and we are now looking to recruit ambitious individuals to join our growing team of advisers.
This role will support in the delivery of our Help to Claim service, which offers end-to-end support to help people make a new Universal Credit claim and be ready for when their first payment arrives.
We are looking for individuals with good IT skills to support clients to make and complete their new Universal Credit claim. You will also need to have fantastic written and verbal communication skills and a commitment to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice service.
You’ll have the ability to interview clients on the telephone and over web-chat using sensitive listening and questioning skills to get to the root of the issue and you’ll empower clients to support themselves whilst maintaining structure and control of the interactions.
If you’re not the finished article, but you are motivated and willing to learn then we are able to offer a six to twelve-month training position, supporting development into a full Universal Credit adviser role, underpinned by a comprehensive learning and development plan.
