Citizens Advice SORT Group Celebrates Impact in 2023

Citizens Advice SORT Group, a leading advice charity helping people across Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale and Trafford, reflects on its impact throughout 2023.
Demand for Citizens Advice SORT Group services continued to rise through 2023, with energy support requests rising by 134%, and crisis help requests increasing by 130%.
In response to this high demand, the charity expanded its services and increased capacity, enabling it to increase the number of people it supports.
As a result of these changes, Citizens Advice SORT Group helped 41,720 people in 2023- a 73% increase from the previous year.
Staff and volunteers answered over 22,500 calls through their Adviceline, more than any other local Citizens Advice in the country.
Throughout 2023, Citizens Advice SORT Group expanded their face-to-face services, and now provide advice and support from 47 locations across Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale, and Trafford.
80% of the people Citizens Advice SORT Group helped said that they couldn’t have solved their problems without the charity’s support.
